Initial Dental Implant Consultation
The first step of every dental implant treatment is a consultation with our dental implant expert and board-certified prosthodontist, Dr. Mario Gatti. With several years of experience and a commitment to delivering the best possible results, Dr. Gatti has helped thousands of patients restore their smiles with this cutting-edge solution.
During your appointment, our team will determine whether you’re a good candidate and guide you through the steps of your journey. This will include evaluating your oral and overall health, as well as your jawbone density. If additional services are required to prepare your smile for dental implants, we will incorporate this into your treatment plan.
Dental Implant Surgery
Gatti has specialized training in the placement of dental implants, allowing our team at Lexington Smile Studio to complete this part of the procedure in-house. This means that you won’t need to worry about being referred to another office across town. Dr. William Negreiros is also expertly trained in implant dentistry, so you can trust that we will place and position each implant in its appropriate place, allowing for superior support once your new teeth are in place.
Dental Implant Osseointegration/Abutment
After your dental implant surgery, you’ll undergo healing and osseointegration, which is where your dental implants will naturally fuse with your jawbone. This takes place over the course of three to six months. Our team will have you return to the office to place small metal connector pieces – abutments - on the tops of your implants. You will be required to wait a few weeks to properly heal once your abutments are in place.
Delivery of Dental Implant Restorations
After Dr. Gatti or Dr. Negreiros has crafted your permanent restoration and the gums around your abutments have healed, our team will make any necessary finishing touches before attaching your new replacement teeth to your dental implants. The type of restoration you receive will be determined during your consultation. You might receive a dental crown, bridge, or denture; it just depends on how many teeth you are missing and need to have replaced.
